The Silent Hill ExperienceNews Posted by ngski on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 - Printer Friendly Version

With the release of Silent Hill the movie back in April, Konami released an exclusive product for the PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable), "The Silent Hill Experience". This disk is not your typical UMD, it is a unique product containing elements related to Silent Hill past video games, music, videos as well as exclusive interviews and content from recently released motion picture.
Pop the disk into the PSP™, the enhanced 3d interactive menus takes you to one of the series' most prominent locations. Flow thru the 3D environment to access interviews, music, trailers and digital comic books

The interview section of the UMD highlights Silent Hill film director Christophe Gans and original series composer Akira Yamaoka are captured on the disk as they tell their diverse experiences while working with the franchise. Gan's discusses the hot topics surrounding the story. Gan's struts his knowledge about the game which separates him from other directors who take on game movies.

The Music taken from best sound track of each game and allows you to play them back two ways. The first way allows on to play tracks whenever you want via a music note on the screen, or play the tracks as you read the comic, which adds to the mood of the comic adventure. Songs include classic tracks like the Main Theme (Silent Hill), Null Moon (Silent Hill 2), Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me (Silent Hill 3) just to name a few.
Trailers consist of classic game trailers from Silent Hill 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as the trailer from the released movie. Konami also included a creepy music video.
Finally the digital comics has some stunning artwork, a solid soundtrack which fades images in and out quickly, keeping the story flowing at a good pace. If the pace is too fast rewind, need a break pause it, or power off the system to bookmark it.

If your a die hard Silent Hill and own a PSP then this UMD should be added to your library. Has everything a fan can ask for visuals, and content. The only thing missing is the game for the PSP, but I would expect Konami to release one soon for the PSP.
